  • New Administration Offices - 07/26/2009

The Elberta Fire Department has now become more accessable to the public! We have moved our administration offices into the old Town Hall located at 13120 Chicago Street. The office is not usually staffed all day Monday thru Friday, but is staffed depending on availability of our volunteers. These offices will be used for the Fire Chief, Assistant Chiefs, Logistics, and also for the Sausage Festival. Any correspondance should still go to PO BOX 152 at this time, however this may change soon.

  • Sausage Festival Update - 03/28/2009

The March 28, 2009 Elberta German Sausage Festival is scheduled to go on today, rain or shine, from 8AM-5PM at the Elberta Town Park. At 06:45 AM, we are currently experiencing some light to moderate rain showers with 10-15 knot wind gusts. We expect the rain in our area to move out shortly, with a small squall line heading this way sometime in the next 2 hours. We expect all rain to be over with around 10AM and partly cloudy skies by Noon. Please come out and support the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department, and check back here from time to get further updates.

    Update 1 - 07:50 AM
The rain has stopped, and we expect that to be the last of any sort of significant or lengthy rainfall today. We expect some partly-cloudy skies around Noon and hope it will continue clearing as the day progresses. We are keeping the park open for vendors to setup until 9AM, and may make a decision to extend that until 10AM, depending on how much of a crowd is in the park.

    Update 2 - 09:30 AM
All of the rain has moved out of our area and the sun is trying to peek through. We're getting reports of some partly-sunny skies in the Foley area, so we are hoping that moves our way. The park is still a little soggy, so bring some boots.

  • Website Update - 03/12/2009

Welcome to the newly re-designed Elberta Fire Department website. The site has now been updated with a newer, crisper look. Our goal is for our site to be more interactive towards the members of our community, and with the members of our department. We are currently working on many new features for the site, such as a newer Photo Gallery, and also an e-mail mailing list that members of the community may subscribe to and stay up-to-date with events that are happening in the town, and the fire department. Any and all input on the site is always appreciated, and we are always open to any recommendations for any new features. Check back with us often for further updates.
